Hustle for Hooch 5K blowing a gale along the bike trail

Grass Roots Rescue a cause for paws
April 19, 2018

The inaugural Hustle for Hooch 5K disembarking (bow-wow) from Gordons Pond along the bike trail to Herring Point and back April 15 was harsh through the marsh, as the cold winds grounded seabirds and sent runners sideways.

Hooch Dog was there along with a slew of rescues in sweaters and bandanas to support Grass Roots Rescue.

Seventy-two runners and double-digit doggies braved the elements to complete the course.

The top 10 finishers were Moiber Rivera, 21:20; Micah Crenshaw, 22:07; Justin Welsh, 22:29; John Blackford, 22:48; Tim Young, 24:00; Beau Croll 24:11, Mary Beth Evans, 24:41 (first woman); Keren Rams, 25:16; Craig Karchner, 25:16; and Brittany Croll, 25:21.
