Inaugural Delaware Seafood Festival a First State success

August 17, 2024

Shore Smoke Seasonings held its inaugural Delaware Seafood Festival Aug. 10, at American Legion Post 28 in Oak Orchard.

The event featured craft vendors, beer tents, a corn hole tournament, live music, a kids’ zone, food trucks, raffles, giveaways and more.

Ryan Stevenson, event coordinator, said, “We decided to hold a seafood festival. Maryland’s got one. New Jersey’s got one. Virginia’s got one. But nobody’s done one in Delaware. I talked to my wife Nichole, she co-owns Shore Smoke Seasoning with me, and I said I want to put on a seafood festival. We had over 100 craft vendors, over 20 food vendors, and we had to turn people away.”

Tickets were $5. Kids 12 and under were free. Proceeds benefited local nonprofits and the American Legion.
