Irene Doris Gould, loved boating, traveling

Irene Doris (Mooney) Gould, 76, of Millsboro, entered into rest Sunday, Jan. 14, 2024.  She was born June 20, 1947, in Staten Island, N.Y., daughter of the late James and Irene (Clark) Mooney.

She graduated from John Adams High School Class of 1967 in Ozone Park, N.Y.  

Irene enjoyed the years of boating and traveling with her husband and grandchildren. They had taken many trips up the Hudson River over the years.  After a lifetime of living in New York, Irene and her husband retired to Millsboro and loved cruising along the East Coast in their beloved trailer. She loved being her husband’s first mate on their many boats. 

Irene loved to cook and was always looking for new recipes to try out. She was also an avid reader. 

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 26, at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, with a visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
