James Dean McManus, respiratory therapist

James Dean McManus, 69, formerly of Rehoboth Beach, passed away Saturday, Feb. 22, 2020, at Christiana Hospital under the care of Seasons Hospice.

Jim enjoyed surfing and skateboarding as a young man, and was always enamored with the Native American way of life. Jim graduated from Rehoboth High School in 1969 and continued his studies in respiratory therapy. He worked as a respiratory therapist at Beebe Hospital in Lewes, as well as in Cambridge, Md., Sandusky, Ohio, and Aspen, Colo. He became disabled due to teflon poisoning and multiple unfortunate injuries. 

Jim is preceded in death by his parents, John A. and Marjorie S. McManus. He is survived by his brothers, John A. II (June) of Milton, William B. (Rhonda) of Rehoboth Beach, and David A. (Blyth) of Martinsburg, W.Va., as well as a niece and nephews, and many beloved friends.

Jim will be remembered as a kind and gentle person who loved his family and loyal friends very much.
