James George Jubb, managed landmarks

James George Jubb, 86, of Rehoboth Beach, passed away peacefully Monday, April 6, 2015, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born Dec. 2, 1928, in Wilmington, son of the late James L. and Margaret (Schlor) Jubb.

Mr. Jubb was a 1948 graduate of Wilmington High School. Following high school, he proudly served his country overseas in the U.S. Army. After being honorably discharged, he embarked on a career with John E. Healy & Sons Construction where he managed the construction of numerous beautiful landmarks within the state of Delaware. After 48 years of dedication to the company, Mr. Jubb retired in 1991 with his wife to Rehoboth Beach.

He spent countless hours around his home creating his own slice of heaven here on Earth. When away from home, he enjoyed spending time with his friends at the Rehoboth Beach VFW where he shared his wit and humor. Mr. Jubb was a member of the Carpenter’s Local Union 626 for 66 years.

He was a devout family man who was always willing to share his expertise and knowledge. His friends and family will always remember him as a selfless man who always put others before himself.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Jubb was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Primrose; and his son-in-law, Roger Tomlinson. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Delores (Hill) Jubb; to carry on his legacy are his four children: Sharon Tomlinson, James Jubb, Patricia Farley and her husband Thomas, and Kathleen Maney and her husband Dennis; his 10 grandchildren whom he enjoyed spending time with: Joshua Jubb and his wife Lisa, Mandy (Maney) Birli and her husband James, Benjamin Farley, Katie Jubb, Daniel Maney, Christopher Jubb, Kelly Jubb, Samuel Farley, Emily Tomlinson and Jenne Tomlinson; he was also graced with three great-grandchildren: Penelope Jubb, Maverick Jubb and Haven Birli; a brother, Raymond Jubb and his wife Nora; and his many nieces and nephews were also an important part of his life.

The family is thankful to Delaware Hospice for its sensitivity and guidance during a very difficult time.

A Celebration of Mr. Jubb's Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.
