James Liberatore, worldwide traveler
James M. "Libby” Liberatore, beloved husband, brother, uncle, stepson, stepfather and grandfather, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2024, in Lewes.
Born in Philadelphia to Rose (Vitacolonna) and Alfred Liberatore, Jim spent the majority of his life in Norristown, Pa., where he made lasting memories and lifelong friendships.
Jim graduated from Bishop Kenrick High School in 1969 and went on to serve the U.S. Postal Service for over 25 years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Denise Liberatore; his sister Antoinette; brother Fred; and his nephews Jay and Justin Hammond.
Jim was known for his love of life. He enjoyed riding his motorcycles, playing pool, playing bocce with friends and skiing. He was a proud member of the MSS Club, American Legion, Elks Club and VFW. Jim supported the American Red Cross and volunteered for Meals on Wheels, always ready to lend a hand to those in need.
He traveled extensively around the world. He was proud of his Italian heritage and took every opportunity to celebrate it.
Jim's legacy will be remembered by his family, friends and the community he so generously served. “Ha vissuto una bella vita" – He lived the good life.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing from 9 to 10:20 a.m., Wednesday July 17, at the Volpe Funeral Home, 707 W Germantown Pike, East Norriton Twp., Pa. A service will follow at 10:30 a.m officiated by Msgr. Sangermano. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery.
