James Patrick Antonelli, humble, kind soul

June 21, 2023

James “Anton” Patrick Antonelli went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, June 6, 2023, while being cared for at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes. He suffered from diabetic complications that led to organ failure.

James was born May 25, 1946, in Norman, Okla. As his father served in the military, he also lived in Guam, Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo., Frankfurt, Germany, Washington, D.C. and Fort Sill, Okla. In his adult life, James lived in Ocean City, Md., and Ocean View. He was employed for nearly 40 years at Phillips Crab House.

James was humble and kind, slow to anger and quick to make others laugh. He loved Oklahoma and Maryland football. His hobbies included drawing, painting, music and coin collecting. James was a cherished son, brother, and friend, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Lui and Mary Antonelli. He is survived by his sister, Nancy Antonelli Beams; his brother, Michael Antonelli; niece, Katie Beams Kelton (husband Tom); nephew, Colin Michel Beams (wife Tamara); and grandnephews, Davis and Brooks Kelton, all from Dallas, Texas.

Per his request, James’s ashes will be scattered where his Italian grandparents Luigi and Jenny Antonelli migrated in Wilburton, Okla.

Many thanks to those of you who loved him well.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his honor to ASPCA, secure.aspca.org.

Final care for James has been entrusted to Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.
