Jane Coyle Forgie, nurse, lifelong volunteer
Jane Coyle Forgie, 93, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2023, at The Moorings at Lewes. She was born Dec. 15, 1930, in Wilmington, to the late David Coyle and Clara Marvel Coyle.
After graduating with an associate degree in nursing, Jane proudly worked as a school nurse for the Brandywine School District in Claymont. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Jane. She loved a quiet evening at home, reading and watching Hallmark movies. She was a lifelong volunteer and advocate for compassionate care. She volunteered for Beebe Medical Center for 26 years, and enjoyed baking for the staff at The Moorings. Jane was always finding ways to help her community, including knitting hats for the homeless. Her pleasant personality was contagious to everyone she met.
Jane is survived by her daughter, Gale F. Riggs (Paul); her son, David W. Forgie (Carita); her brother, David H. Coyle; grandsons, Christopher Berg, Michael Berg, David Forgie and Russell Riggs; granddaughters, Toni Clark, Amber Fusco, Kristina Forgie and Kimberly Turk; and many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She is predeceased by her loving husband, James B. Forgie.
