Jazz, jam bands and rock to kick off 2024 at The Room at Cedar Grove

The Room at Cedar Grove will welcome the new year with a concert lineup that includes jazz, jam bands and rock.

The events benefit Paul Kares, a Lewes-based nonprofit that supports young performers and culinary artists.

Jazz brunch is set for 11 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 7, featuring the band 5th Avenue. Members include Vincent Varrassi on keyboards, Ken Schleifer on drums and Jeff Cooper on bass. Tickets are $35 and include brunch.

Delaware-based musical siblings the Fitzkee Brothers will join Roast John, an Eastern Shore band, at 6:30 p.m., Friday, Jan. 12, to play jam band greats, including the music of the Grateful Dead, Phish and the Allman Brothers. They will also play originals.

Tickets are $40 and include dinner. Beverages will be available for purchase.

Paul Cullen, co-founder of Paul Kares, and Robbie LaBlanc will tune their guitars and team up to perform at 6:30 p.m., Friday, Jan. 19.

The musicians will perform their favorite covers and originals. Tickets are $40 and include dinner.

Sol Knopf and his high-energy band will perform Neil Diamond’s music at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 26. Tickets are $55 and include dinner. Ultimate Diamond will help raise funds for the medical expenses of Knopf’s daughter-in-law, who was in a major accident last summer.
