Jeannie Marie Malice, devoted wife, mother
Jeannie Marie (Hodgson) Malice of Georgetown passed away peacefully at home with her family after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Saturday, Jan. 20, 2024. She was born Nov. 11, 1955, in Wilmington, daughter of the late Charles D. Hodgson Sr. and Sara F. (Veasey) Hodgson.
She graduated from Henry C. Conrad High School Class of 1974. She then went on to marry the love of her life, Thomas Eugene Malice, that same year. Then, she became a mother to her son, Thomas Micheal Malice, in 1976. She loved being a mother so much that she and her husband opened their hearts and home to foster many children over the years. Every one of them had a special place in her heart. She worked as an active treatment supervisor for the State of Delaware at Stockley Center for 22 years before retiring. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother to her two granddaughters, Haley and Autumn. She loved spending time with her family, riding with her husband on his motorcycle, going to the beach, swimming in her pool, shopping, and drinking a good cup of coffee. She will be greatly missed by her family and honored for many years to come.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Thomas Eugene Malice. She is survived by her son, Thomas M. Malice and his wife Heather L. Malice of Georgetown; her granddaughters, Haley Nicole and Autumn Marie Malice of Georgetown; and her siblings, Charles D. Hodgson Jr. of Wilmington, Margaret Durnan of Maryland, Nancy Parker of Middletown, and Phillip Hodgson of Georgetown.
Services will be private.
