The Jefferson School students help others to help themselves

March 15, 2013

Students at The Jefferson School know how to get what they want. Through hard work, perseverance and helping others along the way, the Student Council has raised enough money to have a concrete foundation constructed for a new greenhouse on TJS campus.

The Gothic Arch Greenhouse was generously donated to the school by one of the current families. With the assistance of several parent volunteers, the greenhouse will be ready for spring!

The TJS Student Council, composed of first- through eighth-grade students, has also rallied the efforts of the entire student body and faculty to collect items and raise money for various community organizations. To date, they have contributed to Stuff the Bus for the Food Bank of Delaware, Airman’s Attic at the Dover Air Force Base, Crisis House in Georgetown and Special Olympics.

The Jefferson School is located on 43 wooded acres in Georgetown and strives to provide innovative academic programs that foster an enthusiasm for learning.
