Jeffrey Allen Muncey, longtime trucker

May 10, 2024

Jeffrey Allen Muncey, known affectionately as “Jeff,” passed away peacefully Monday, May 6, 2024, in Ellendale. He was born June 21, 1965, in Milford, a cherished son of the late John E. and Gail S. (Rider) Muncey. His life was a bright beacon of love and joy to all who knew him.

For over 40 years, Jeff worked as a truck driver for various places, including Milford Fertilizer, Habnab, and Coverdale, as well as running three of his own trucks. He also was a trusted truck driver for Art Collins, where he formed lasting friendships and bonds within the local community. A man of many interests, he relished time spent at the Harrington Casino, skillfully racing stock cars, fishing on tranquil waters, and grilling to perfection. Yet, his favorite moments were those spent surrounded by the laughter and love of his granddaughters.

Jeff is survived by a loving family that includes his son, Jordon Dutton and his wife Amanda Nordberg; the mother of his son, Nicole Dutton-Muncey; and his adoring siblings, Shirley Muncey, Johnny Muncey, Debbie Morris and Joey Muncey. His granddaughters, Addison and Willow, were the apples of his eye, and his devotion to them was unparalleled. Not to be forgotten, his loyal dog, Chevy, was a steadfast companion.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 18, at Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 N.W. Front St., Milford, with visitation beginning at 9 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Johnstown Cemetery, Greenwood.
