Jeffrey Hitchcock Bardwell, biology professor
Jeffrey Hitchcock Bardwell, Ph.D., 42, died Thursday, June 13, 2024, in Chambersburg, Pa. He was born March 26, 1982, in Charlottesville, Va., and his education included a Ph.D. in biology from Baylor University, a master’s degree from Sul Ross University, and a bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech.
Jeff was most happy as an assistant professor of biology at Wilson College. His other interests included writing historical fantasy and gardening.
Jeff was predeceased by his father, Robert George Bardwell of Winchester, Va. He is survived by his parents, Mitzi and Paul Kratt; sister, Laura Bardwell; brother-in-law, Drew Orlowski; and nephew, Oliver Orlowski.
A memorial service will be held at noon, Saturday, June 29, at Saint Peter's Episcopal Church, 200 2nd St, Lewes.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts to honor Jeff's legacy to Wilson College, 1015 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201, specifying Biology Department in the memo line.
