Jeffrey Lynn Fraley, loved medical field

January 31, 2012

Jeffery Lynn Fraley, 58, was carried by God’s angels to heaven Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012. He was the son of William C. Fraley and stepmother, Irene Fraley. Jeff was preceded in death by his mother, Janet Louise Fraley.

He was born in Hagerstown, Md., June 24, 1953, and was a 1971 graduate of North Hagerstown High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force for four years as a radiology specialist, stationed in Anchorage, Alaska, and received an honorable discharge.

He attended diving school and worked for Smit American Salvage and was fondly referred to as "Doc." His love of the medical field then took him to Florida where he worked in nursing homes, labs and finally a physician's office where he was loved and greatly respected by the patients.

With a "heart of God" Jeff also served as a youth minister and attended Bible College in Florida. After moving back to Hagerstown in 2000, Jeff was diagnosed with a terminal illness. During this same time, he found and married his first love. Together they shared the moments of seven blessed years of happiness, facing the challenges of Jeff's illness and leaning on the Lord for their strength.

Jess is survived by his wife, Patti Jo (Kershner) Fraley; one son, Heath and his wife Tina; one daughter, Sara; seven grandchildren; one sister, Linda Baxter and husband Greg of St. Cloud, Fla.; one brother, Dennis Fraley and his wife Roseann of Frederick, Md.; a cousin, Nancy Lehman and Aunt Marie of Hagerstown; two nieces, Melissa and Megan; and one nephew, Ryan.

Jeff was a Delaware Hospice patient for three years. His big heart and love of the Lord touched many of those who cared for him. He left a piece of himself in his final days with everyone who was a part of his every day at the Hospice Center.

Services and burial will be private and at the discretion of the family.

Memorial contributions in Jeff's name may be made to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963, to honor those loving hands that cared for him.

Arrangements by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes.
