Jerry Longo’s Italian restaurant opens at Dover Downs

Established Italian brand Jerry Longo’s Meatballs & Martinis is now open at Dover Downs, replacing the former Frankie’s Restaurant which closed for renovation in September. The Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce held a recent ribbon cutting to commemorate the restaurant’s opening.
Owner Longo was born and raised in South Philly, where he learned to respect and appreciate his Italian-American culture. He often found himself in the kitchen with his mother preparing “Italian soul food,” which now lives on through the menu items offered at Jerry Longo’s Meatballs & Martinis.
Menu items are reminiscent of those commonly prepared in an Italian-American household. They are straightforward and arguably simple, until Jerry demonstrates how each one is crafted with only the finest ingredients available and the sincerest attention to detail.
Nick Polcino, vice president of Dover Downs Hotel & Casino, said, “I have known Jerry Longo for a long time, and we are thrilled to partner with him at Dover Downs. Jerry is a meticulous operator, helping to bring our food and beverage experience to a higher level. He understands gamblers better than any restaurateur in the country, and we truly believe that this concept will exceed all guest expectations.”
