Local country music artist Jimmie Allen raised $5,000 for Love Creek Elementary School Dec. 21, at a sold-out concert at the Rusty Rudder in Dewey Beach.
Allen, a 2004 Cape Henlopen High School graduate, performed a mixture of his country hits and some well-known Christmas carols.
He performed with the accompaniment of his friend and keyboard player Donald Walker.
A special guest appearance was made by the Elf on the Shelf, who assisted Allen as he answered questions from young fans.
Allen gave away his new album “Tulip Drive” and attendees could participate in a silent auction for items such as the cowboy hat Allen wore to the ACM Awards and a copy of his first No. 1 hit, “Best Shot.”
