Local country music artist Jimmie Allen raised $20,000 for the Sussex Consortium at two sold-out Christmas concerts Dec. 15-16 at the Rusty Rudder and Bottle & Cork in Dewey Beach.
On Friday, Allen performed in front of an under-21 packed house of students at the Rudder. He sang some of his hits and some of his favorite Christmas carols.
The 2004 Cape Henlopen High School graduate stayed after the show to give autographs and take pictures with his young fans.
Allen shared the stage with the Elf on the Shelf, while they answered questions from young fans. Some asked what sport he likes best and his favorite spot to fish.
Saturday night was the over-21 crowd’s turn, as fans rocked out with Allen’s new band at the Bottle & Cork.
