September 17, 2024

Jimmie Balton, 81, passed away peacefully Thursday, Sept. 12, 2024, in Milford. He was born Jan. 8, 1943, in Williamsville. Jimmie was the beloved son of the late Pastor Louise Bolton Williams and cherished grandson of the late Letha Sturgis. His sister, Catherine Harmon, also preceded him in passing.

Jimmie dedicated many years of service at KSI, developing strong bonds and a reputation as a reliable and dedicated worker. His spiritual life was deeply rooted in St. Matthews Baptist Church in Bishopville, Md., where he found solace, community, and inspiration. An avid fan of stock car races, Jimmie could often be found cheering on his favorite drivers at Georgetown Speedway. His number one hobby was picking up cans, his hands-on activity, while his taste in entertainment ranged from the intensity of WWE matches to the classic Americana of "Leave It to Beaver" and westerns.

Jimmie is survived by his three nieces, Lisa Bolden, Ardie Bolden and Pamela Coleman (Shawn); three great-nieces, Tomekia Bolden, Kimberly Bolden and Adaiah Bennefield; great-nephew, Troy Bolden; eight great-great-nephews; and an extensive family, including numerous extended relatives and dear friends. His friendship with Bobby Baker and David Cannon was profound, as he held them close to his heart like brothers.

A funeral service will be held at noon, Saturday, Sept. 21, at Watson Funeral Home & Crematorium, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may visit beginning at 11 a.m. Interment will immediately follow at St. John 2nd Baptist, Millsboro.
