Jo Gayle Stambaugh, enjoyed family time

Jo Gayle Stambaugh, 88, of Lewes, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2024, at Cadia Renaissance Rehabilitation Healthcare, Millsboro. She was born Jan. 21, 1936, in Austin, Texas, daughter of the late Edwin Joseph and Willie A. Joseph.

Jo was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Stambaugh, in 2017; her son, John R. Stambaugh Jr., in 1986; and her in-laws, Dr. Ervin L. Stambaugh in 1988, and Margaret Rhodes Stambaugh in 1988.

A homemaker for most of her life, she thoroughly enjoyed traveling, knitting, crocheting, sewing, and spending family time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, B. Gayle Messick of Lewes; her son, Ray G. Richardson of Vermont; a grandson, Christopher Ryan; and eight great-grandchildren.

All services will be private.
