Joan R. Brown, a beacon of love and faith, passed away peacefully Monday, July 15, 2024, at her home in Hebron, Md. She was born May 29, 1947, in Seaford. Joan's life was characterized by her thoughtfulness, loving nature, and unwavering faith.

Joan's professional life was marked by her meticulous and dedicated work as a bookkeeper. She was highly respected in her field and appreciated by her colleagues for her precision and reliability. Her involvement in various associations, where she generously contributed her time and skills, was a testament to her commitment to her profession and helping others.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Joan's passions were simple yet profound. She found joy and solace in the beauty of flowers and the companionship of her beloved dogs. Through these interests, Joan formed connections with fellow enthusiasts and neighbors, nurturing a community of friends who shared her love for nature's simple pleasures.

Joan is survived by her daughter, Christine Brown; sister, Suesann Rickards; nephews, Craig (Allison) Smith and Patrick (Samantha) Smith; grand-niece, Jocelyn Smith; grand-nephew, Riley Smith; sister-in-law, Linda (Craig) Smith; adopted family members, Betsy Bradley and Megan and Christopher Saunders; and “great-granddaughter,” Emily Saunders.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, July 22, at Spring Hill Memory Garden, 27260 Ocean Gateway, Hebron, Md.
