Joanne C. Langenfelder, put others first

Joanne C. Langenfelder, 79, of Frankford, formerly of Carroll County, Md., passed away Monday, Oct. 16, 2023, at Atlantic Shores Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Millsboro.

Joanne was born in Baltimore, Md., July 6, 1944, daughter of the late Joseph William Spence and the late Marie H. (McFadden) Spence. She loved working at Seaside Country Store in Fenwick Island for more than 20 years.  

Joanne was such a people person, as she loved interacting with the customers. She put others’ needs first. Joanne was a faithful member of Sound United Methodist Church in Selbyville, where she enjoyed working with the children’s ministry.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Dale R. Langenfelder; and two sisters. She is survived by her husband, Richard H. Langenfelder, they would have celebrated their 60th anniversary next month; a son, Todd J. Langenfelder of Selbyville; and a grandson, Ryder D. Langenfelder.  

A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 24, at the Ocean View Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 38040 Muddy Neck Rd., Ocean View, where a funeral service will begin at 7 p.m. Interment will be held privately on Wednesday at Lakeview Memorial Park in Sykesville, Md.
