John and Fern Robertson, business owners

April 13, 2012

John "Captain P.J." and Fern "Pat" Robertson passed away within months of one another in May and October of 2011.

They owned and operated P.J.'s Service Center in Lewes for many years and were known by many in Lewes and neighboring towns.

John was also a captain and mechanic for Fisherman's Wharf in Lewes, and Fern was a server at The Lamp Post and 1776 restaurants.

John was an avid fisherman and loved the outdoors and everything it had to offer. Fern was especially creative and enjoyed using her talents in making ceramics, dolls and other special keepsakes. John and Fern were preceded in death by their daughter, Linda Susan Young. They are survived by a son, Timothy Michael Robertson and wife Shawn; and a daughter, Jennifer Lynn Layfield and husband Douglas. They also leave behind numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services were held. In remembrance of John and Fern, the family wishes anyone who was touched by them to just go out and enjoy what they enjoyed. Go fishing and take someone you love with you, teach your child or grandchild a special hobby or craft and then think of John and Fern.
