John H. Carter Jr., sports enthusiast
John H. Carter Jr., 31, of Lewes, died suddenly Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011, in Laurel. Born in Baltimore, Md., Jan. 18, 1980, he was the son of John H. Carter Sr. and Cissy (Kammerzell) Carter.
John graduated from Cape Henlopen High School. John was an avid sports enthusiast who loved baseball and football, especially the Orioles and Ravens. He also enjoyed playing softball for the X-Factors in Salisbury, Md.
In addition to his parents, John is survived by one son, Thomas Carter of Lewes; two daughters, Natali and Alexis Carter of Long Neck; a sister, Jennifer A. Carter of Lewes; sister-in-law Dawn Carter; former wife Clementine Carter; and nephew Lucas Scott Carter. He was preceded in death by his brother Mathew Paul Carter in 2011.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, Sept. 12, at Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 King Highway, Lewes, where friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Interment will be private.
