John William Brittingham, devoted sports fan

John William Brittingham, 42, passed from this life Thursday, June 13, 2024. He was born March 6, 1982, son of Joanne and Brett Dorey; and his biological father, Karl Waples.

John graduated from Indian River High School in 2000. One of his greatest loves was playing baseball for Roxana Pyle Center Little League. He was a devoted sports fan, especially to the Baltimore Orioles.

Most will remember John’s excellent sense of style, his charismatic energy and sociable personality, as well as his humor. John could always bring a smile and laugh to your face.

Perhaps John’s greatest gifts were his two kids, Jonathan Cole and Brielle Elizabeth Brittingham, of whom he was so proud. They have the best parts of him, and he lives on through them.

In addition to his parents and children, John leaves behind his brother, Hunter (Shannon); nephew, Theo; his grandparents, Carolyn Robinson; as well as Bill and Sandy Waples. He was also loved by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday, June 29, at HighTide Church, 28000 Nine Foot Road, Dagsboro, with services immediately following.
