Joseph Clinton Dawson Jr., loved his family, music
Joseph Clinton Dawson Jr., fondly known as Joe, and to many as “Buddy,” passed away Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2024, in Baltimore, Md. He was born April 29, 1952, in Milford, a beloved son of the late Joseph Clinton Dawson Sr., and Florence (Wilson) Noel.
Joe had a deep love for music, especially gospel singing, which brought joy to him and those around him. He also enjoyed fishing, finding peace and fulfillment in the quiet moments spent by the water.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents; and his sisters: Jennilee Dewey and Patty and Donna Dawson. He is survived by his loving daughters, Dawn Melissa Howard (Leon) and Joanna Lynn Missimer; siblings, Joanne West, Earnest, Henry and Frank Timmons, and David Eisenhour. He was blessed with four grandchildren, Andrew Steven Howard (Brooke), Sarah Elizabeth Ankrom (Jordon), Kandis Rene Missimer and Regan Patricia Missimer; two great-grandchildren, Jaxon and Luna Ankrom; as well as nieces, nephews extended family, and friends who will forever cherish the memories they shared with him.
A funeral service to celebrate Joe's life will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 15, at Watson Funeral Home, Millsboro. A viewing will held from 10 to 11 a.m.. Interment will follow immediately at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Joe’s name to the PTSD Foundation of America, ptsdusa.org.
Joe will be remembered for his kind heart, love for music, and devotion to his family. His presence will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
