Kaisy’s Delights coming to Lewes this spring

December 14, 2016

Popular Rehoboth Beach eatery Kaisy’s Delights is slated to open a new, larger location near Lewes in March.

Construction is underway for Thierry and Nathalie Langer’s second location at the former Windsor’s Flower shop at Wescoats Corner, just off Savannah Road near Walgreens.

Thierry said it has been his intention to open a second location in Lewes since moving to America in 2014.

He and his wife opened the first Kaisy’s Delights on Rehoboth Avenue in May 2015. It has become one of the most popular eateries in Rehoboth Beach, he said, skyrocketing to No. 1 on TripAdvisor in its first year.

The new shop will be about twice the size of the Rehoboth location, but with the added benefit of a drive-through window. Offerings will be the same, including the couple’s signature kaiserschmarrn, a popular Austrian breakfast dessert that is soft and chewy like a pancake and served with homemade fruit marmalade.

Thierry said it was love at first sight in Lewes. Just one day after moving to America from their native France, he and his wife found the former Windsor’s shop and knew it would be the perfect location for their future restaurant. The Windsor’s shop has since been demolished and crews from Burton Builders are well into construction of the new building.

“Rehoboth was a test store for our concept,” he said. “Lewes is going to be our flagship store. I hope it’s the beginning of a long and fruitful story.”

The Rehoboth location will remain open through the winter season with varying hours. Go to the Kaisy’s Delights Facebook page for up-to-date hours. For more information, call the Rehoboth shop at 302-212-5360.
