Kelsey Magill honored with Jefferson Award
Sussex Technical High School Junior Kelsey Magill of Ocean View was chosen by the Student Leadership Team as the Jefferson Award recipient for October 2011.
A criminal justice major, Kelsey was an integral member in starting the Kick Butts Generation Club at Sussex Tech. Kelsey and the other KBG members believe that it is vital to raise awareness about the harmful effects that smoking can have on today’s youth.
Kelsey has represented the KBG at community, state and national events. She has represented the KBG at Sussex Tech sporting events, Delaware State Fair, and NASCAR events at Dover Downs.
Throughout Kelsey’s years of volunteer work, she says that she has learned a lot about young people and adults. Her goal is to apply her experiences to her everyday life. It makes her happy to know that she is making an impact on other people.
