October 14, 2014

Kenneth "Ken" James Corson, 66, formerly of Bellmawr, N.J., currently of Milton, passed away Friday, Oct. 10, 2014 at his home with loved ones at his side. He was born Oct. 23, 1947, in Woodbury, N.J., son of the late Charles Francis and Helen Olivia (Holm) Corson.

Ken graduated from Haddon Heights High School in 1965. From 1967 to 1968, he proudly served in the U.S. Army as a combat engineer. Following his honorable discharge, he met and married his partner in life, Claudette. Together they would build many wonderful memories and raise two beautiful and loving children.

He enjoyed a 40-year career with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union 98. Following Ken's retirement, he worked part time at Emory’s Garage where he enjoyed repairing vehicles and tinkering on fast cars. A great joy in his life was playing and reading with his 4-year-old granddaughter Sophie.

An avid reader, Ken always had a book in his hand. Sunday afternoons were spent watching his favorite football team, the Philadelphia Eagles, and Monday night football with his buddies at the Corsons’. He also enjoyed playing golf, scuba diving and spending time at the beach.

Most importantly, Ken was a kind, caring and devoted family man who always put his family first.

Ken will be remembered for his good-natured spirit, his love of family and friends, and living life by honoring and respecting God and nature.

Ken is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Claudette (Kerivel) Corson; his daughter, Nicole Deng and her husband Edward; his son, James Corson and his wife Amber; three brothers: Charles Corson and his wife Susan, Robert Corson and his wife Sue, and Thomas Corson and his wife JoAnne; his granddaughter, Sophie Deng; four nieces and two nephews.

May his legacy brighten our hearts forever.
