Kim Willson joins Delaware Community Foundation board

July 19, 2021

The Delaware Community Foundation recently welcomed Kim Willson as a new member of its board of directors.

A partner at Ruggerio Willson & Associates and an experienced government relations specialist, Willson has been interested in politics for as long as she can remember.

Willson’s first foray into local politics started in college when she began working for the Delaware Volunteer Firemen’s Association administration, a role that provided her with firsthand knowledge of how local organizations and governments work together. Willson has spent time in various roles in the political arena including state scheduler and executive assistant for U.S. Sen. Tom Carper, and regional field director in Kent County for the 2008 Delaware Democratic Party.

Most recently, she led government relations at Valero’s Delaware City Refinery.

Willson is highly involved with local organization Gals That Give and was named one of the Delaware Business Times’ 40 Under 40 in 2016.

“Kim brings an incredible wealth of government relations knowledge and experience,” said Stuart Comstock-Gay, DCF president and CEO. “We are fortunate to have her on the DCF board and look forward to having her help us fulfill our mission of building opportunity throughout Delaware.”

The foundation thanks outgoing board members Jim Mazarakis and Andy Staton for their many years of service.
