Kite festival postponed until 2022

February 6, 2021

The Great Delaware Kite Festival, co-sponsored annually by the Lewes Chamber of Commerce and the Delaware Division of Parks and Recreation, will not take place in 2021. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the committee decided to postpone the event until 2022. The festival takes place annually on Good Friday at Cape Henlopen State Park in Lewes.

“This would have been the 53rd kite festival, and we are all extremely disappointed that it will not take place,” said Betsy Reamer, executive director of the Lewes Chamber of Commerce. “We look forward to next year when hopefully the pandemic will be under control and the kites will be flying high over beautiful Cape Henlopen.”
