Kurt R. Fiegel, outdoorsman, gardener
Kurt Russell Fiegel, 64, of Lewes, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2023, of complications from multiple myeloma. He was born in Providence, R.I., March 8, 1959, son of Dolores Fiegel and the late Bernard Fiegel.
Kurt was a big man with a big personality. He was a passionate outdoorsman and masterful gardener. Kurt spent most of his life in Montgomery County, Md., where he was a successful salesman for Luskins, a longtime distributor of the Washington Post, and an intrepid guide for Orvis. He was happiest in the woods, on a boat, casting a line, or tying a fly. He loved his years tending the Hanson Farm in Potomac, Md., and had a unique knack for creating unforgettable recipes.
Kurt will be remembered for his storytelling that made you laugh until you hurt, his wild adventures, his creative talent, and his inexplicable love of Andy Griffith Show reruns.
Kurt is survived by his beloved mother, Dolores Fiegel; his sister, Lori Fiegel (Tom); his brother, Eric Fiegel (Patty); his nephews and niece, Alex Beers, Gina Beers, Justin Fiegel and Nicholas Fiegel; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Services will be private.
Final care has been entrusted to Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.
