The Ladies of Long Neck hosted a drive-thru trunk or treat event Oct. 31 at Best Ace Hardware in Long Neck. The group of about 2,600 women does a variety of things, but members make sure a focus remains on community service and volunteerism. The event was made possible with the help of Ace Hardware, Grotto Pizza, property owner John Burton and Carol’s Tree Service, which paid for insurance for the event.

The Ladies of Long Neck organized the drive-thru event. Among those giving out bags of candy are Samantha Payne, Thelma Dickerson, Barbara Painter, Kathie Shott Whalen, Denise Ganley, Melissa Funk, Elizabeth Hernandez, Jeanne M. Hart Schatzman and Helen Thomas-Fish. Also helping were Julie Seriocarney, Laurie Shay, Claire Smith Gleason, Angela Penawell, Cathy Rintz and Laura Vander Plasse Metcalf.
