Lamenting the loss of flamingo flock

February 18, 2021

In a world plagued by virus, sickness and death, now add one more thing has me very upset - the loss of flamingos by the Girl Scouts due to vandalism. Why would anyone want to ruin the happiness these flocks bring? What type of person has this childish behavior and mischief? Was it teenagers who have no control over anger issues? An adult bully? I am not sure.

The Girl Scouts are trying to develop positive and strong women who do no harm and will be the well-rounded women of the future. What has this told them about the sick world they actually live in?

I am so sad at the loss of idealism and innocence. They were bringing happiness to anyone who had the fortune to have the flock in their yard and all who would see them. The funds raised would send these young women to Europe - the trip of a lifetime filled with so much education. I was a Girl Scout once upon a time, and it did make a difference in my development and the way I look at things.

If I had flamingos, I would donate them to them with a free heart. If I had the funds, I would buy them a flock. What is the cost of kindness? This all makes me so sad.
