League of Women Voters to hold annual meeting June 8

Sussex County League of Women Voters will hold its annual meeting from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at Millsboro Public Library, 217 W. State St., Millsboro.

Keynote speaker will be Bernice M. Edwards, executive director of First State Community Action Agency. Sharing insights from over 40 years of experience in nonprofit program management and administration, Edwards will discuss the agency’s work, as well as challenges African American voters face in Sussex County.

The agenda also includes highlights of accomplishments during the past year, current committee activities and proposed programming for 2024-25. As a nonpartisan organization, the league welcomes anyone concerned about local and state issues to bring a brown-bag lunch and join them in their mission to empower voters and defend democracy, regardless of gender or political affiliation.
