Lee Dettra to perform organ recital June 30
All Saints’ Church will present its third season of WaterWorks Thursday afternoon organ recitals beginning June 30. This year’s roster of guest artists is among its finest offerings.
The 30-minute recitals are Thursdays at 12:15 p.m., preceded by an 11:30 a.m. Holy Communion and healing service. All Saints’ Church is at 18 Olive Ave., Rehoboth Beach. There is no charge for the recital, but a free-will offering will be taken.
Distinguished organist Lee Dettra will perform June 30. Retiring three years ago after 53 years of serving churches and universities in Florida, Pennsylvania, New York and Delaware, Dettra was organist and choirmaster of the Cadet Chapel at the U.S. Military Academy, West Point, N.Y., where he presided at the world’s largest church organ.
He earned degrees from Westminster Choir College and Union Seminary School of Sacred Music, and holds the fellowship and choirmaster diplomas of the American Guild of Organists.
