Legacy Academy sets Christmas concert in Georgetown Dec. 19
Legacy Academy, the first classical Christian school in southern Sussex County, will present its 2023 Christmas concert at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 19, at Calvary Baptist Church, 22860 Dupont Blvd., Georgetown.
Students from grades 1-8 will perform an evening of lessons and carols titled His Name Shall Be Called. The program will include student solos, duets, recitations and choir pieces. Classic Christmas hymns, carols and scripture passages will invite the audience to consider the immutable, eternal names of Jesus, his attributes and his character.
With Legacy’s emphasis on understanding scripture and seeking truth, Legacy students focus on Christ all year long as the center of their education and all human history. These biblical truths hold special significance during the Advent season and the celebration of anticipating Jesus’ birth. Legacy students are encouraged in emulating the character of Christ by displaying virtue in all of life, bringing glory back to God.
With a curriculum rooted in the classical tradition that is integrated, comprehensive and academically challenging, Legacy students are spurred on to excellence, and their talents and gifts are honed to position them well for their future callings.
Legacy Head of School Karen Barbrow said, “At Legacy Academy, students receive a rich, classical Christian education established upon Christ as the author of all life and knowledge. During the Christmas season, Legacy is excited to share the hope of Christ’s advent with our community in Sussex County. This celebration will be a wonderful time for our students, families and friends in the area to rejoice in the true meaning of Christmas.”
