Lewes DAR thankful for holiday tour and bake sale support

The Col. David Hall Chapter, NSDAR, members are grateful to the Lewes community for everyone’s enthusiastic patronage during the December holiday bake sale and tour of the chapter-owned c. 1739 Maull House.

Organizers tallied 904 visitors taking the docent tours and buying out the bake sale goods.

DAR members and visitors addressed 140 holiday cards to send to residents at the veterans home in Milford.

The chapter’s America 250 Patriot tree was illuminated with red, white and blue lights. Members handcrafted more than 200 Revolutionary War patriot silhouette ornaments with their patriots’ names, ancestor numbers and states of service on shiny, red and blue discs. Small American flags graced the tree and were given out to guests.
