Lewes Elementary fourth- and fifth-graders in Meghan Catts’ and Devon Reber’s classes celebrated Law Enforcement Appreciation Day Sept. 16, by inviting members of the Lewes Police Department and Delaware State Police for morning coffee and pastries.
Just outside the school’s main entrance, students hung posters thanking officers on a table overflowing with treats as officers arrived. After serving the officers, students clustered around them, asking questions and learning about the responsibilities of local law enforcement.
