Lewes farmers market joins Do More 24 Delaware March 3-4
For 24 hours, from 6 p.m., Thursday, March 3, through 6 p.m., Friday, March 4, the Historic Lewes Farmers Market asks the community to join in doing more for Delawareans. In those 24 hours, the Historic Lewes Farmers Market is hoping to raise $12,500 to purchase fresh local food from area family farms to give to Delaware families in need. Small family farms need help, and so do the families in area communities who use food banks.
The HLFM’s unique program supports both by purchasing produce from family farms and delivering that fresh, local food to area food banks. The HLFM will make sure there is a balance of fresh veggies, fruit, eggs, milk and bread to be delivered direct to the food banks from the farmers for distribution.
The HLFM asks for the community’s fundraising help March 3-4 at domore24delaware.org/fundraisers/historic-lewes-farmers-market.
