Flooding is starting to reach businesses and homes along Lewes Beach, even with the brunt of the storm hours away. BY RON MACARTHUR

The winds shifted around to the north northwest at the time of high tide Monday morning helping to hold down the first high tide, bad enough as it is anyway. The winds blew lots of debris up on the public beach at Lewes including a set of dune stairs and a wayward Sunfish sailboat. BY DENNIS FORNEY
All low-lying areas around Lewes Beach were flooded at high tide Monday morning. Officials are predicting much more serious flooding over the next 24 to 36 hours.
