Lewes Holiday House Tour spotlights 11 properties
More than 2,000 tickets sold to popular historical society event that helps kick off the season

The 50th annual Holiday House Tour of Lewes Dec. 2, sponsored by the Lewes Historical Society, featured 10 homes and the Children’s Beach House. More than 2,000 tickets were sold.
Houses included: The Artist’s Home, 331 Mulberry St., owned by Susan and Roger Ward; 109 Coleman St., owned by Debra Hansen; 129 Franklin St., owned by Carlene and Joel Klena; 515 Kings Hwy., owned by Mary McInerney and Kevin Keane; 511 Kings Hwy., owned by Steve and Lorrie Walker; 212 Grey Plover Court, owned by Hillary Summerbell; Shanti Peace on Lewes Beach, owned by Tai Altiero and Tony Cosentino; the Maull House, 542 Pilottown Road, owned by the Daughters of the American Revolution; Children’s Beach House, 1800 Bay Ave.
Lines were long at every house on the tour as one of the largest crowds ever purchased tickets.

The Kings Highway home of Steve and Lorrie Walker is adorned with many eclectic items collected over the years, including a large wooden Indian in the home’s porch.
Original beams dating back to the 19th century were found and preserved during a restoration project of the Finkle home at 126 Franklin St.
During the restoration at 129 Franklin St., a modernized spacious kitchen was added.
Mike Finkle purchased his home at 126 Franklin St. and set out on a 16-month restoration project to restore the home to as close to the original as possible. It once housed Lewes National Bank built in 1850.

The Finkle home on Franklin Street was built in 1850 as the Lewes National Bank originally located on Second Street.
A uniquely decorated dining area designed by Sanctuary Interior Designs is highlighted at 219 Grey Plover Court.
The Summerbell home at 219 Grey Plover Court has a warming fireplace in the parlor. The house is a combination of three houses moved to the location in the 1960s.
The table is set for the holidays at the home of Carlene and Joel Klena at 129 Franklin St.
