Lewes library teen job fair workshop set March 21

March 13, 2024

The Lewes Public Library will host its 8th Annual Teen Job Fair from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, March 23, at 111 Adams Ave., Lewes.

The annual fair connects teen applicants with local businesses to discuss seasonal and/or year-round employment opportunities. The fair is free of charge and open to all teens ages 14-19. No registration is required.

Participating businesses include: Agave, Chick-fil-A, Dairy Queen, Delaware Jellystone Beaches, Fins Hospitality Group, Funland, Jungle Jim’s, Rehoboth Toy & Kite Company, Roots + Youth Development Program, SoDel Concepts, Sweet Frog and Thrasher’s French Fries.

To help teens put their best foot forward at the March 23 job fair, a job fair prep workshop will be offered at 6 p.m., Thursday, March 21. Presented by Lesley Eichten and Teen Services Librarian Emily Ellinger, the session will cover a wide range of topics for teen job seekers, from applications and interview techniques to work permits, employment law and professional etiquette.

“The teen job fair provides an all-in-one experience for teens to learn about employment opportunities from a variety of local businesses,” said Ellinger. “Paired with our preparation workshop, this is a great opportunity for teens to learn to navigate the job market, and build confidence with applications and interviews.”

To register for the March 21 workshop, go to lewes.lib.de.us or call 302-645-2733.
