Lewes man, 20, dies in three-car crash near Oak Orchard
A Lewes man, 20, died Jan. 2 following a three-car crash near Oak Orchard.
The crash happened about 4 p.m. when a Cadillac CTS was traveling eastbound on Route 24 west of William Street Road and for unknown reasons it crossed into the westbound lane, police said. The Cadillac swiped the left side of a GMC Terrain travelling in the westbound lane before colliding head-on with a Dodge Ram that was also in the westbound lane, police siad.
The driver of the Cadillac CTS, Willi Aguilar-Garcia, 20, of Lewes was taken to an area hospital where he died.
The driver of the GMC Terrain, a Millsboro woman, 29, and the Dodge Ram driver, a Millsboro man, 24, both sustained nonlife-threatening injuries.
Route 24 between William Street Road and Maryland Camp Road was closed for about 2.5 hours as investigators examined the scene and cleared the roadway.
