Lewes man charged in Angola car break-ins

A Lewes man faces charges after several thefts from vehicles in the Angola area.

Police began investigating June 11 after someone had gone through vehicles in Angola Beach and Estates, Bayridge Crossing, and The Cove, and stolen money. Police learned the William Rodenbaugh, 31, had trespassed on several properties in those neighborhoods. Police arrested Rodenbaugh July 5 and charged him with attempt to commit theft under $1,500 where the victim is over 62, theft under $1,500 where the victim is over 62, attempt to commit theft under $1,500, and four counts of third-degree criminal trespass. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2, and released on a $5,000 unsecured bond. However, police said he was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on an existing capias warrant.
