A total of 79 young sailors from clubs around the region competed July 20 in the Chesapeake Bay Yacht Racing Association Lewes Yacht Club Youth Regatta, which is one in a series of association races.
Sailors competed in four fleets throughout the afternoon on Delaware Bay. The top Lewes Yacht Club finishers were Bailey Fletcher and Riley Stazzone, taking fourth in Club 420 racing. More than 30 volunteers from LYC and the Freedom Boat Club Sea Sisters provided support for the event. During the day, there were more than 100 boats on the bay along Lewes Beach.
CBYRA junior sailors compete in 14 sanctioned regattas throughout the summer.
