Lighthouse Christian School hosts program of thanks for veterans

November 22, 2011

The Lighthouse Christian School, the Dagsboro Boys & Girls Club and American Legion Post 28 remembered United States military veterans by presenting a heartfelt program of thanks Nov. 17. The school takes pride in helping to build a future generation of citizens which is informed about the patriotism associated with Veterans Day.

Among honored speakers this year were two special guests: U.S. Army Cpl. Nick Tosques was a POW in Korea for over two years, and U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Art D. Fry served in World War II and fought in the Battle of the Bulge.

Their time of sharing experiences provided an educational opportunity for students and staff. Their testimony was a reminder of the sacrifices veterans have made and are still making for the nation today.
