Linda Ruth Cannon, lifetime auxiliary member

Linda Ruth Cannon, 78, of Bridgeville, passed away peacefully at her home Saturday, April 6, 2024. She was born in Greensboro, Md., Sept. 25, 1945, daughter of the late Alfred and Laura McKnatt Truitt.

Linda had worked for many years as a secretary, beginning at ILC in Frederica, Bridgeville Savings and Loan, and for the lawn care service she and her husband operated.

She was a devoted life member of Bridgeville Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and had attended Chaplains Chapel Church. However, being devoted to her husband, children and grandchildren was her first priority and brought her the most enjoyment.

She is survived by her husband, John T. Cannon Jr. (Jack); her children, Jay Cannon (Alicia) of Milton, and Laurie Countryman (Christopher) of Bridgeville; and five grandchildren, Chance Cannon, Gianna Decker, and Liam, Luke, and Charlotte Countryman.

Graveside Services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, April 12, at Bridgeville Cemetery, Market & Laws sts., Bridgeville. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, April 11, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws St., Bridgeville.
