Local elections have real consequences. Gregg Lindner, a candidate in House District 4, has clear positions on important issues:
1. Protecting our current early voting and permanent absentee ballot process. Do not be confused by candidates that tell you our current election process has safety concerns. They do not exist. Inclusion of voting rights in our state's constitution is needed. Gregg will work to enact inclusion.
2. About defending our reproductive rights, Lindner would have supported and voted yes on each of the three pieces of legislation that were in the 152nd General Assembly. Rep. Jeff Hilovsky voted no. Lindner would have voted with the majority on IVF legislation. His opponent was absent.
3. Lindner has the needed background after serving eight years on a school board and managing a business with more than 1,000 employees. He will work with the Democratic majority to bring needed change to the school funding process required for achieving better outcomes. It is about our community's future. Delaware doesn't have to reinvent the funding process. Over 40 states use flexible funding methods to determine funding for school districts needing incremental support beyond our current state programs. Gregg will work with others in the Legislature without doing any harm to the funding that currently exists for all of our school districts. His opponent recently spoke about issues relative to homework assignments and financial literacy. Education is a complex issue and should be treated as such.
4. Lindner will support and vote for what needs to be done at a state level to improve our infrastructure for a community that has grown by over 33% over the past 12 years, a rate far above national and state averages.
Whether it is affordable and workforce housing, medical access, affordable childcare or the infrastructure issues we deal with daily, vote for the candidate who can bring change by working with the majority. Flipping just two seats in the General Assembly will allow for embedding safeguards in our state constitution. Vote for Gregg Lindner for state representative in House District 4, as I will.
