Local athletes compete at North East Olympic Triathlon

A group of locals traveled to North East, Md., Aug. 26 to compete in the North East Olympic Triathlon. The race featured a 1,500-meter swim, a 26.8-mile bike ride and a 10K run. It was a great race on a beautiful day on the northern end of the Chesapeake Bay.
Finishers include (l-r) Mary Beth Evans of Rehoboth Beach in 3:18:15, Bruce Clayton of Lewes in 3:06:00, Erin Johnson of Lewes in 3:00:42, Andrew Staton of Rehoboth Beach in 3:19:11, Amy Linzey of Ocean View in 3:38:34, Nicole Bailey of Rehoboth Beach in 3:22:27, Joe Ashton of Rehoboth Beach in 3:07:51 and Heidi Wagner of Lewes in 3:42.30.
