Local governments group leader attends final legislative session in Dover

July 3, 2024

With the last strike of the gavel, Delaware's 152nd General Assembly adjourned June 30, and representatives from the Delaware League of Local Governments culminated their work at Legislative Hall in Dover.

Since January, league members have lobbied for and against legislation that influences local government and home rule. Among the hot topics this year were affordable housing, unfunded mandates, homelessness, electric vehicles, offshore wind farms and short-term lodging taxes.

Founded in 1963, the Delaware League of Local Governments is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization comprising local government leaders. It represents Delaware's 57 municipalities and three counties. League members come together for one common purpose – to improve everyday life for all Delawareans.
